Man Page Viewer

http(9)

DESCRIPTION

HTTP (HyperText Transfer Protocol) is the protocol used for the web. The pubnix contains a per-user space to create their very own website. This man page documents what you can do in your own space.

FILE STRUCTURE

Your public HTTP directory is located in your pubdir(9) at /pub/USERNAME/http.

By default, for index files, the webserver will look for an index file among these names: index.html, index.cgi, index.sh, index.py and index.pl. If the index file is not found, the content of the directory will be listed.

CGI scripts are supported. The software running CGI script is *fcgiwrap*.

Unlike typical structures, all CGI scripts can be stored anywhere as long as it's file extension is .py, .sh, .cgi or .pl.

DOMAIN NAMES

Just for fun, we are providing domain names for user pages. Here is a list. (USER must be replaced by the username)

  • USER.is.infinitely.gay
  • USER.goose.business
  • USER.be-gay-do.computer
  • unix.lgbt/~USER
  • This list is incomplete, you can help by expanding it.
